We’ll be hosting this gathering every six weeks. It’s tough to get everyone together, so we’ve set up a schedule so you can attend when you can—we hope to see each of you at one of these dinners throughout the year. Check the specific dinner for a “theme” if you’d like to bring a dish to pass. Please RSVP so we can plan for the right amount of food.
We’re also planning to have special guests and entertainment throughout the year—see below for details on who we’re trying to book.
No politics, no food shaming.
We look forward to seeing you all!

Don’t be so busy trying to make a living that you’re too busy to make a life.
One of the greatest joys I’ve experienced over the past decade is bringing people together. However, life has presented obstacles that have kept me from organizing these types of gatherings—most notably, the COVID pandemic and the demands of starting my own business. For years I’ve told myself, “Once things take off and my business moves beyond the shop, I’ll resume hosting social activities.” But I’ve come to realize that in the pursuit of making a living, I’ve been neglecting the very moments that make life enjoyable. My goal now is to recommit to fostering connection among family and friends.
I chose to coordinate these gatherings on my own site rather than on a social media platform, largely because many friends I admire have limited their social media use to protect their mental health.
This idea is inspired by a combination of influences: the family dinners that Wasko used to host, the strong sense of family demonstrated by Dominic Toretto, and a seed planted by Jeff’s mom, who shared with me how meaningful their own family and friend dinners have been.
Q: Will there be other events at the shop?
A: Yes! Big fight night events will be scheduled, along with other one-off events. Subscribe to our calendar to receive notifications, and remember to check your junk mail for messages from “Gather at the Shop.”
A perfect way to showcase your talents and passions! Think of this as a friend talent show—minus the competition. Let’s clear the stage and put you in the spotlight. Here are some acts we’re excited to feature at upcoming Sunday dinners.
